ARK pulls out the stops for Summer BBQ
On Thursday 28th July Ark Resettlement celebrated its annual BBQ…
The sun blazed down, bathing the garden in a warm summer glow. Lime and chilli chicken breasts, mango and prawn skewers, juicy jerk drumsticks, our chef pulled out all the stops. The tree was adorned with blue and white balloons, waving in the smoky mist of the BBQ grill. People laughed and chatted, swaying to the tones of Beres Hammond and Courtney Pine. Friends from afar, came together to celebrate Ark. Service users and probation officers, volunteers and local authorities, police and neighbours, all unfurling foil wrapped sardines, the tangy aroma of the lemon swirling in the air.
It was the kind of day every organisation wishes for; informal but informative.
“We had a fantastic time and it was really nice to meet the other agencies involved in our work.”
Margaret Needham- Resettlement Officer
